Gevril’s second year of international expansion

After spending three years building a solid brand image in America, which includes fifty of the nations top retail stores, Gevril is now expanding its overseas markets.

Gevril, with its headquarters in the USA and its manufacturing base in Switzerland, has established itself as a leading brand in the USA, popular with both consumers and stars of the silver screen, television and sports. We asked Steven Pachtinger, Vice President of Gevril, for his comments on the brand’s efforts on the international markets.
“Due to the strong design of our ever-popular Avenue of Americas Collection, the Russian market was the initial foray into international territory. We have a very powerful distributor in Russia and we are working together with them in building Gevril revenue at a rate of approximately 20% annually,” Pachtinger explains. “Another strong market for us more recently is Italy. Italians are style and design conscious by nature and they have fallen in love with the innovative retro styling of Gevril. This market has also shown a double-digit increase for 2005. Our other important markets for the brand are the Middle and Far East. At present, we have a very powerful push in Singapore.”

This year’s projections
“For 2006 we expect a relatively flat market within the USA. Our focus here will be to continue to build our current outlets of distribution and only in select situations will we entertain the possibility of a new retail partner. With our new production expected out by the end of this year, I estimate that our numbers will increase significantly in 2007.
“We do however anticipate continuing to enjoy double digit increases throughout Europe as we develop strategic alliances that will help us proliferate Gevril in their respective markets. For 2006 we will chart a course for Gevril to arrive in Germany, France, Spain and Latin America.”

BaselWorld
“We are currently preparing for BaselWorld 2006. We are especially excited about the event this year as we will be improving our location and our exposure by moving to Hall 1.1 Booth D-6. There we will be exhibiting our new addition to the outstanding Avenue of Americas Collection, with the worldwide introduction of the patented Serenade in 18 carat white gold, with dual time and ‘light’ zones. A rare and unique patented Gevril movement with 23 carat gold rotor powers the Serenade. Sapphire crystals cover both the beautiful guilloché curved dial as well as the GV-AOASE movement. The Serenade will be a Limited Edition watch of just 50 pieces in each of the precious metal versions.
In addition we will be exhibiting a prototype of an incredibly exciting new race-inspired Gevril Chronograph that will be unique in that it will combine the classic refinement of our traditional timepieces fused with the edginess of racing. The final designs are now being completed and the timepiece is expected later this year with an endorsement by and advertised with one of Formula One’s top ten racing drivers,” Steven Pachtinger says.
“Hollywood has also taken note of the grandeur of Gevril. Turn on a television just about any day or evening and you will find many Gevril enthusiasts: Sting, Mario Andretti, Joan Collins, Anne Hathaway, Brad Garrett, Federico Castelluccio, Joe Mantegna, Martin Sheen, Joan Rivers, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Matthew McConaughey, Nicollette Sheridan, Eva Mendez and Geena Davis. This spring Gevril will make its motion picture debut on the wrist of Academy Award Winning Actor Denzel Washington. Denzel will be wearing an 18 carat gold Chelsea timepiece in his movie Inside Man in which he stars with fellow Academy Award winning actress Jody Foster,” Steven Pachtinger concludes.
