Ultimate technical perfection: the Double Tourbillon 30º by Greubel Forsey

中文
June 2006

In the avalanche of new-generation tourbillons, Greubel Forsey stands out in the extreme art of watchmaking.
The superb and very innovative Double Tourbillon 30˚ is ‘a tourbillon inside a tourbillon’ with its two mobile
cages connected to each other at an angle of 30˚. Dubbed by its creators as the Tourbillion of the third millennium, its principal advantage is that it can compensate for the variations in operation (due to the forces of gravity) not only when in a vertical position, but also in any position. The result is that the watch keeps more precise time than a classic tourbillon measured in six positions, (+/- minus seven seconds): the Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30º has a difference of +/- two seconds.
In order that one can appreciate the richness and diversity of what Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey the ‘inventor-watchmakers’ have created, here is what lies behind this unique revolution within a revolution.
