The teamwork between Marvin and Sébastien Loeb has given rise to a mechanical self-winding Valjoux 7750 chronograph. The matt black PVD-coated case is a symbol in itself – that of the dark side of the force, of the incredible resources on which a driver has to draw in order to achieve the ultimate reward in extreme competition conditions.

The dynamic 44 mm case middle features distinctively cut-out sides and instantly recognisable screw-in flexible lugs mounted on red suspension rings. They mould the wrist like a high-powered car boasting excellent road holding. One can almost hear the screech of the tyres on the tarmac-textured dial, and the engine being pushed to the limit on the chronograph counters designed like the dashboards of such speed machines.

The exceptional driver’s signature appears at 4 o’clock on the dial of each model. This chronograph, which also includes a tachometric scale on the bezel in another nod to motor sports, comes in two versions. One has openworked baton-type hands and yellow hour-markers – a vibrant colour traditionally associated with energy and power. The other is an ultra-limited 88-piece worldwide edition, in tribute to Sébastien Loeb’s eighth victory and to Marvin’s mysterious lucky number 8. With its red hands and hour-markers, it symbolises the fiery determination that drives Sébastien Loeb. The men with the eight titles is intensely present in this compendium of mechanical watchmaking expertise.

Whether in its limited or collector’s editions, this new chronograph offers a stronger than ever expression of the distinctive chemistry between motor sports and watchmaking. Better still, it conveys the expertise and the originality of a brand, while bearing the hallmark of a true champion.
