The race is all about challenge, adventure and glory, and Graham is the perfect match for the spirit of the race, as well as the enthusiasm and team spirit of the participants, and we have created a winner’s watch that represents all of these aspects” says Eric Loth, Founder of Graham.

Camaraderie amongst the teams is apparent and also between Sal Fish, president of Score and Eric Loth. Obviously, they share the same passion for high-technology, mechanics and agreed to bring even more adrenaline and entertainment to the race.

Sal Fish, CEO and president of Score International: “The Score Baja 1000 continues to draw interest from all over the world and we are more than happy to welcome GRAHAM as the official timekeeper. With stunning products they will undoubtedly add spice to the already vivid Score Baja 1000 legacy.”

To celebrate the 45th anniversary, Graham has developed a collectable watch: Chronofighter Oversize Score Baja 1000. The tricky course is the driving force for the competitors to go beyond the limits of man and machine, so a great source of inspiration for GRAHAM engineers. Like the modified 4-wheel vehicles used by the race competitors, the Chronofighter Oversize Baja 1000 has been re-engineered to fit the extreme race conditions.

The start and stop lever on the left of the case, originally used by aircrew in the forties, is the renowned Graham signature. It is made of plain carbon and is produced in a very specific machining process. The lever is a single piece of carbon which provides the watch with more stiffness and enhanced usability. The black ceramic bezel gives the watch its strength and shining personality.

To brave the elements, each watch is also fitted with a calculated telemeter scale. It enables to measure distances thanks to the speed of sound; by starting the chronograph when a visible event occurs (e.g. lightning) and stop it when the sound reaches the observer (e.g. thunder). As the temperature influences the speed of sound, our engineers have based their calculations on 77°F, the average temperature on Earth. The distance in miles can be measured on the dial thanks to the scale rim (346 m/s).

High-tech material and processes have been used to create a watch that withstands the dangerous and rugged environments of the Baja 1000 race: a watch you can absolutely count on.
