Montblanc presents its Timepieces iPad App, an interactive tablet experience that brings the fascinating world of Montblanc’s watchmaking expertise to life.

Designed by Montblanc as an essential resource for watch enthusiasts and collectors alike, the new application allows you to discover the inner workings of Montblanc’s finest movements, the stories behind their making and also features an exclusive look at one of the most anticipated new Montblanc timepieces in 2013.

With the help of the most sophisticated digital technology, Montblanc can now tell the story of its unique timepieces with this easy-to-use iPad app. Offering unparalleled insight into the different aspects of its watches, the Montblanc Timepieces iPad App delivers a virtual exploration of the intricate details of over 40 selected watches. The technical details as well as the unique aesthetics of each piece can be enjoyed through 3D models, animated films, and advanced graphics highlighting the complex technical specifications that make these timepieces so special.

This journey of horological discovery opens the doors to Montblanc’s workshops in Le Locle and Villeret in Switzerland, two locations where the finest Swiss watchmaking traditions are preserved and where innovative advances in haute horlogerie are constantly researched. A window into this prestigious universe, the Montblanc Timepieces iPad App provides valuable context around the creation of various calibres including the birth of the first chronograph. It features an exclusive preview of the new Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours, which was recently presented at the SIHH 2013 and which will not be available in stores until the second half of 2013.

Because fine watchmaking is about the precision and discipline of the experts who create them, the iPad app profiles some of the craftsmen, or “soulmakers” who bring these Montblanc timepieces to life. Additional features include spectacular 3D interior and exterior models of Montblanc’s flagship timepieces as well as its innovative complications. Never static, the app will constantly be updated with new products and exciting behind-the-scenes content.

Another highlight of this user-centric iPad app is the “True View”-function that gives users an opportunity to “try on” different Montblanc timepieces. Simply measuring their wrist, users can try out different watches and see how they look on a wrist their size. If the piece looks like the perfect fit, a store locator can turn the virtual experience into a real one. Favourite Montblanc timepieces can be shared with others via email or through social media channels. The application is available to download from the App Store.
