Sweden’s Capella Industries, which already operates the Lambretta watch brand inspired by the iconic Italian scooters, has this year launched two new brands in the fashion watch segment.

“Velox was created as a vessel to find new ways to reinvent the classic watch segments with a new breed of watch design,” says Capella Industries and this is apparent in the mixture of a typically Scandivanian understated design with a futuristic touch.

The 42mm diameter watch case of the Velox XC1 has a brushed stainless-steel top plate that gives the watch a raw look interrupted only by the rectangular window for the digital time display. A silicone strap in a choice of colours completes the look of the XC1, which will retail for a competitive €95.

Panos Emporio, the second new brand launched by Capella Industries this year, occupies a slightly higher price segment, with the first pieces retailing for around €200. Here, too, the watches exude a classical design, with an uncluttered dial devoid of numerals and a subtle small seconds display at 6 o’clock. Their names, Atlas for the 42mm gents’ model and Calypso for the 35mm ladies’ model, are inspired by figures from Greek mythology and come in six styles each, with silicone straps or stainless-steel bracelets.

There are also new additions to the Lambretta collection with the “Cielo Fashion Concept”. The Cielo watches have a round case and have matching dials and straps grouped around the themes of “metallic”, “dots” and “stripes”.
