Part of the futuristic and elegant Avantgarde collection, this first tourbillon timepiece helps to mark the watchmaker’s 25 jubilee this year.

As many of you might already know, 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of operations for the Alexander Shorokhoff Uhrenmanufaktur. To mark the occasion, the innovative watchmaker will be releasing several novelties throughout the year.

The brand’s Avantgarde collection has already been bolstered, with a new Crossing model addition which we covered here. In another move to strengthen the collection, Alexander Shorokhov has added one more futuristic design.

And it’s no coincidence that the name of this watch is “Tomorrow”. The watchmaker firmly has the next 25 years in mind, and this timepiece places it within the higher echelons of luxury watchmaking.

The objective with this model was to make a decentralized dial, which has been accomplished with a unique linear design motif. The lines are neither straight nor proportional - meant to represent individualism. Yet every line of the upper dial part leads to a triangular gold plated hour mark, adding coherence to the piece.

The brand’s motto is “art on the wrist”, and just like traditional art this timepiece is subject to interpretation by the beholder, which makes it more captivating.

The lower part of the dial is defined by a blue tone background, which also gives life to the asymmetrical white linear design. Thanks to the base blue colour the golden hands can be seen clearly, too, ensuring legibility.

In another novelty, the Tomorrow boasts the very first tourbillon movement as part of the Avantgarde collection. The Kal. 8950 has been sourced by Swiss firm Concepto, known for producing movements for several top brands.

To make this watch a bit more distinct, the movement boasts some nice finishing as well. That includes the bridges of the tourbillon movement, which are beautifully engraved by hand at the Alexander Shorokhoff manufacture and then returned to Switzerland for final assembly.

The timepiece, cased in 18 carat rose gold, will be available in a very limited edition of only five examples, and it is expected to retail for about 45,000 euros.
