On Monday January 16th in Tokyo, the Parmigiani Fleurier brand enjoyed the privilege of being honoured by the most coveted Japanese professional accolade – the “Watch of the Year 2006” prize – for its exceptional Bugatti Type 370 watch.
Awarded by a jury made up of the most eminent specialists in the field of horology as well as those of fashion and culture, this grand watchmaking prize rewards the year’s most noteworthy accomplishment. The Japanese press salutes the capabilities demonstrated by the Parmigiani Fleurier brand in successfully creating a new introduction that is unprecedented in the distinguished history of Haute Horlogerie: the first ever watch with a transversal movement, a mechanical feat inspired by automobile technology. Through its multiple technical innovations, the Bugatti Type 370 watch proves that it is still possible to invent new ways of viewing watches. Michel Parmigiani was delighted to officially receive the trophy from the hands of the President of the Jury, Ms. Tomoko Kayama, before an audience composed of the leading executives and economic players in the Swiss watch industry.
