Alpina Geneve has been named as the Official Timekeeper of the 57th edition of the famous ‘12 Hours of Sebring’ endurance race, which will take place from March 18-21, 2009 on the Sebring International Raceway in Florida, USA.
For this occasion, Swiss manufacturer of high quality sports watches Alpina, developed an exciting special Limited Edition: the Alpina Extreme ’12 Hours of Sebring’. The watch meets the important requirements of the drivers in the race: highest level of accuracy, extremely high readability, shock resistance, sturdiness and reliability.
The 48 mm timepiece, in stainless steel coated with black PVD and rubber, has a mat black dial – representative of the track’s tarmac – and features clear indexes with a bold red ‘12’, commemorating the twelve exhausting hours of the race.
The watch is equipped with an automatic, AL-525 movement with a 42-hour power reserve, bridges decorated with perlage, finished anglage and a black rotor with Côtes de Genève decoration. The dial is mat black with carbon in the centre and has applied white and red luminous indexes with arabic numerals and white painted luminous hands.
The watch, which is water-resistant to 200 metres, has a sapphire crystal, see-through case back, an ABS-coated screw-down crown with red Alpina triangle pattern and carbon finishing synthetic fibre strap with a black PVD Alpina deployment buckle.
