Today's spark Tomorrow's sparkle

There is no better place to look for inspiration than the night’s stars. The celestial star Mira was the muse behind the Mira brand that was founded in Switzerland back in 1896. The Mira star is a variable star whose brightness fluctuates over periods of time, much like the brand has during its long history.

Mira Watch marked history in the 1940s with its Automatic Men’s Watch Series that was equipped with the Felsa Bidynator calibre. This movement is regarded as the predecessor of all modern automatic watches. However, the Mira brand is now entering an even brighter period of luminescence with two amazing new collections that are catching everyone’s eye.

Merveille de l’Espace Collection for Men
Mira’s Merveille de l’Espace Collection for men also takes its inspiration from the wonders of the galaxy. The three rings on the dial represent syzygy, a rare and auspicious phenomenon whereby three or more celestial bodies converge in alignment in the same gravitational system. The top, brushed metal ring indicates the hours, the centre ring is a 60-second sub dial and the lower counter has a 60-minute retrograde.

The bottom part of the dial is created in blue aventurine or white mother-of-pearl with the upper dial featuring engraved guilloché patterns radiating from the centre in simulation of the dazzling light of stars. This 42mm stainless steel timepiece is equipped with an automatic mechanical movement, combining durability with precision; a fluted crown ornamented with a diamond; multi-layered anti-reflective sapphire crystal coating; crocodile designer-strap with push button clasp and water resistance to 50 metres.

Fée Céleste Collection for Ladies
This beautiful and functional Mira Fée Céleste is a stunning collection for women. The watch case is available in stainless steel or stainless steel with 18-carat rose gold. At 43mm, this is quite an audacious dimension for a ladies’ watch, but one that appeals to women with style.

A bejewelled swan swirls its elegant neck and feathers around the black mother-of-pearl dial with a decentred hour hand at 12 o’clock and retrograde minutes at 6 o’clock. This magnificent ladies timepiece has a total of 1.31 carats of diamonds and is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. Other features include bold coloured crocodile straps, diamond decorated deployment clasp and water resistance to 50 metres.

A rising star
After the introduction of these two dazzling collections, telescopes are now fixing on Mira as its superb design and fine craftsmanship are combined with extremely attractive prices. “We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback we have received to the brand, especially in regard to the design of our new collections,” shares Roman Arnold, Sales Director. After a successful BaselWorld fair, the brand is gaining increasing global recognition under the watchful eye of its muse 350 light years away.
