Some changes in the dates for inhorgenta europe:Event brought forward by one week in 2006 and 2008

November 2004

Inhorgenta Europe in Munich is to be held one week earlier than originally planned in the years 2006 and 2008. The new dates are: 17 to 20 February in 2006 and 15 to 18 February in 2008. With this change Messe München GmbH, the organiser of this international trade fair for watches, clocks, precious stones, pearls and technology, is responding to a wish frequently expressed in parts of the sector.

The move has been made possible by a corresponding shift in the dates for the international sporting goods and sports fashion fair, ispo Winter. Until 2009, however, this flexibility is only given in the even-numbered years, as in the intervening, odd-numbered years, the major construction fair BAU is taking place. This latter event takes up the entire exhibition centre and it needs a lot of time for the setting up and dismantling of stands.

In 2006 the bringing forward of the fair dates gives an added bonus in that it no longer overlaps with the last weekend of carnival. In southern Germany the end of carnival now also coincides with a whole week of school holidays.

These are the dates for inhorgenta europe through to 2009:
• 2005: 25 to 28 February
• 2006: 17 to 20 February (new: one week earlier!)
• 2007: 23 to 26 February
• 2008: 15 to 18 February (new: one week earlier!)
• 2009: 20 to 23 February
