As part of its new charity advertising campaign « Baume & Mercier & Me » launched in September 2005, the Swiss watch brand Baume & Mercier chose to associate itself with the Esquire Downtown evening event, held in New York on 14th November 2005, in support of five aid organizations: Darna, Prostate Cancer Foundation, Hollywood Entertainment Museum, Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, Youth I.N.C.

Michel Nieto, Baume & Mercier CEO, travelled from Geneva to welcome the numerous celebrities such as top models Helena Christensen, Petra Nemcova, Jacquetta Wheeler and Natalia Vodianova in the company of her husband, Justin Portman. The couturier, Michael Kors as well as Mexican actress, Eva Longoria, heroine of the TV series « Desperate Housewives » were able to admire the magnificent venue: a superb loft decorated by leading designers in the new Astor Place building in the heart of Manhattan. A charity sale was organized with numerous prizes including two tickets for the Rolling Stones’ concert followed by dinner with 2 top models, 2 front row seats at the Michael Kors fashion show and the latest Diamant watch by Baume & Mercier…
The total sum of profits in aid of the different associations amounted to $100,000.
