Tiffany launches Web site in China

May 2006

Capitalizing on what many hail as burgeoning Internet use in the country,Tiffany & Co. has launched an informational Web site in China.

Tiffany's latest site—the company's fifth in a string that includes sites in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Canada—includes 11 sections and 557 individual Web pages, according to a Tiffany release. The site offers comprehensive information on the company and its history, as well as the jewelry collections offered in Tiffany's two retail locations in Beijing and Shanghai. Additional sections cover diamonds, fine jewelry, timepieces, gifts and accessories, jewelry expertise and care, catalogues, customer service and store locations.

“Since its founding in 1837, Tiffany has been recognized for its expertise in diamonds and fine jewelry, as well as the highest level of quality and customer service,” Sylvia AuYeung, director of Tiffany & Co. China, said in the statement. “Our new Web site gives us a more efficient way to disseminate important information to existing and potential customers.”

The site warns visitors that authentic Tiffany & Co. merchandise is available in China only at Tiffany & Co. stores, and cautions users about purported Tiffany & Co. merchandise sold through unauthorized channels. Currently, Tiffany & Co. products are not available for online purchase in China.
