The new International Micro Technologies Show “EPMT 07” will be staged together with “EPHJ 07”

October 2006

Europa Star sister publications, Eurotec and the Bulletin d'Informations, both addressing the technology field will be there to ensure promotion and information on the trade.

Background
In 2002, the first edition of the Annual EPHJ Show in Lausanne (Professional Environment of Watchmaking & Jewellery)  was staged with the support of the Beaulieu Congress and Exhibition Centre. This show was created to fill a gap and to satisfy a latent demand for a show, which would bring together the entire international profession represented by the trades and enterprises upstream and downstream of the finished product. This enabled the clients of all the companies in this sector to meet with all their potential suppliers in one place and at a predefined time of the year and to discuss new products or new solutions with them without being pressed for time.

Microtechnologies, the offspring of watchmaking
Thus, the first field, which was showcased, was watchmaking and jewellery, two industries that engendered all of today’s microtechnologies.
Given the existing demand, it was planned right from the outset to also showcase all the other microtechnologies and to give them their very own show in the future.

EPMT Show
Following the model of the EPHJ Show, its founding fathers and Beaulieu Exploitation SA have thus decided to stage, in parallel, and with the obvious synergies, a new exhibition:

The EPMT - Professional Microtechnology Environment
(Environnement Professionnel MicroTechnologies)

which will be the gathering of all the professions and trades in microtechnology.

The EPMT will take place on the same dates (June 5 – 8, 2007) and at the same venue, that is to say at Beaulieu in Lausanne, as the EPHJ Show and will be guided by the same philosophy, with the same design of modular stands, the same policy and of course the same spirit.
This business and exchange platform will also be an annual and international event reserved exclusively to professionals.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover ideas and novelties, not only in their own specialty but also in various related or complementary fields.

Moreover, the EPMT will also be able to benefit from the experience and the contacts of aRc management SA, the company which until 2005 organised the Subtec Show in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The organisers wished to enable those companies, which had worked with them till then, to continue to present themselves in the best way and the most professional environment. To do so, they decided to pool their experiences with those of the organisers of the new EPMT Show in order to help it become the benchmark in Switzerland for all matters relating to microtechnologies other than watchmaking and jewellery.

Fields of application
The EPMT is open to industrial and service companies in the following fields of microtechnology and industrial sub-contracting:

Aerospace
Automation, robotics
Biotechnology
Electronics, microelectronics
Engineering & technical design
Automotive equipment
Medical, orthopaedic & dental equipment
IT for industry
Research & training institutions
Measuring instruments, metrology
Laboratories
Industrial machinery & equipment designed for microtechnological and micromechanical applications
Nanotechnologies
Optics
Telecommunications
Other microtechnological specialty areas (sub-contracting)…

Western Switzerland, the Arc of the Jura : a centre of competence in microtechnology of world-renown

Over time the Swiss watchmaking industry gave birth to the industry of microtechnology, in which miniaturisation, automation and precision are essential factors. It is these skills, developed by this industrial network with more than 1,000 companies and backed by a large number of training centres, research centres and science parks, which gave Western Switzerland its international reputation as a centre of excellence in microtechnologies.

Just like in the case of watchmaking and jewellery and the EPHJ, the organisers of the EPMT felt that the time had come to display and put on view all these companies, their craftsmanship and know-how, to give them the highest possible visibility in the framework of a great event at which the professionals of this precision and high-tech industry gather
Thus, this event is geared to draw all those clients, be they from Switzerland or abroad, who have used or may some day, inevitably, use the skills and expertise of the companies located in a region whose resources require no introduction, but remain to be discovered.

To gather at one and the same venue and time such closely related specialisations that are applied in such varied areas, should bring about a rich flourishing, a spreading of ideas and concepts bringing forth new synergies and a melting pot of creativity and dynamism.

Just like the EPHJ, which managed to treble the number of exhibitors and visitors after 5 consecutive shows, the EPMT Show has set itself the ambitious target of offering to the microtechnology industry the appreciation worthy of its quality.

N.B. Eurotec, our European Technical News Magazine, and the Bulletin d'Informations, sister publications of Europa Star, will be distributed through our booth at EPHJ / EPTM 07.
As a reference publication in the microtechnology field, Eurotec is published 6 times yearly to cover decision makers in all European countries. It is printed in three languages: French, German and English and covers the technical sectors of precision engineering, machine-tool industry, mass production, metal processing, plastics technology, industrial electronics as well as equipment and ancillary sectors.
Eurotec, for all micro-technology products and the Bulletin d'Informations, for the watchmaking industry, are key tools not only to enhance your presence at these Shows but also to promote your products in Europe throughout the year.
