Favre-Leuba recognized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie

June 2008

The Steering Committee of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie met and unanimously endorsed the contribution of Favre-Leuba to fine watchmaking.

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie is directed towards all those actively involved in fine watchmaking. The principal goal of this body is to encourage a joint perspective and lateral relations to promote the culture and know-how of fine watchmaking.

At a recent meeting the “Steering Committee” unanimously voted to associate Favre-Leuba with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. Favre-Leuba, a brand with a history going back nearly 300 years, joins the circle of fine watchmakers which the Fondation promotes through its media vehicles (Site Web, HH Journal) and via its numerous activities around the world (exhibitions, training programmes, etc.).

At Favre-Leuba, the team is delighted with a decision they see as the outcome of relentless efforts in design and production in an innovative and ever-changing industry.  Favre-Leuba has every intention of building up a strong partnership and of providing the best possible support for the continued development of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie.

Having reclaimed its independence in 2003, Favre-Leuba has gone from success to success as a fine watchmaker. The 2007 Mercury collection was acclaimed for its unusual design and high quality.
At BaselWorld 2008 the launch of the Bathy V.2, a legendary instrument incorporating a mechanical depth gauge, was applauded by the whole industry as a whole. The FL A.Schild was also a sensation – it is a limited edition of 101 units, each with a 1967 36’000 alt./h. Schild original movement, completely redecorated for the occasion. The more modern Chronographe X-trême combines the elegance of a chronograph with Grade 5 Titanium, in a limited edition of 290 units for the 290 years anniversary of the Maison Favre-Leuba.
