New faces for Aerowatch’s 1942 Collection

July 2008

Following the introduction of its wristwatch concept five years ago, Aerowatch SA offers some new faces in its 1942 line. The flagship model of its collection, the 1942 Chronograph, possesses truly distinctive features now synonymous with the Jura based firm. After the success of its first edition, Aerowatch retains the characteristics of the steel case and presents two new limited editions each of 500 pieces.

For this new timepiece Aerowatch has chosen an automatic chronograph movement decorated in the purest tradition of Swiss watchmaking, with circular-grained bars and bridges, blued screws and an oscillating weight complete with ‘Côtes de Genève’ decorations. In addition to the chronograph functions, the dial has a full calendar display (date, day of the week and month) as well as phases of the moon. The 24-hour indication is assured by a red hand which completes the piece.

With its timeless style, the 42 mm diameter steel case is equipped with a domed sapphire crystal on the dial side. The 1942 Chronograph also has a transparent crystal on the movement side serving as a window of discovery for the curious. Each timepiece has an engraved number on the case back.

The black dial with its engine-tuned ‘sunburst’ finish has a flange indicating the date. The hands and applied steel indexes are delicately treated with the Superluminova process, enabling the time to be told in the dark. Silvered grey counters and the use of a red centre seconds-hand add a touch of dynamism to this classic model.

The black leather strap has a personalized folding clasp to secure the timepiece to the wrist.

As an alternative to this model, which offers excellent value for money, Aerowatch also proposes a version with a white dial.
