Breil Milano opens NYC flagship

July 2008

Boutique features jewelry, watches in historical yet modern setting

As part of its plan to open stores in luxury-loving cities around the world, Breil Milano has descended on New York City's trendy SoHo shopping district.

The new flagship store at 148 Spring St. opens on the heels of other jewelry and watch boutiques the brand has opened recently in Florence, Italy, and in Barcelona, Spain, in April, as well as in Berlin, Germany, in February.

The 155-square-meter New York City boutique combines the traditional touches of the historical building in which it is housed with modern architectural touches.

The interior combines warm color tones with bronze and green tints. Each furniture item and accessory inside is one-of-a-kind and custom-made for the boutique.

Small leather items, eyewear and fragrances are featured in the street-level part of the boutique, while bags, watches and jewelry can be purchased in the more private lower level, where large accessorized walls in warm-toned light oak mimic a more natural environment.

Upstairs, the entire left-hand wall is covered in original tiles created by Dutch artist Edwin Vlassenroot, who also sculpted the store's copper lampshades. Facing the wall is an eye-catching shelf unit, symmetrical and simple, that displays eyewear.

Breil Milano plans to open additional flagship stores in Rome this September and in Milan, Italy.
