Maîtres du Temps unveils its first timepiece, Chapter One, in Russia and Ukraine

October 2008

Maîtres du Temps, announced the completion of successful events in Russia and Ukraine. These followed the global launch of Maîtres du Temps in April 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland, and a 10-day tour of Asia in June 2008.

Steven Holtzman, founder of Maîtres du Temps, was accompanied to Russia and Ukraine by legendary watchmaker Mr. Roger Dubuis, one of three master watchmakers behind the creation of Chapter One. The series of presentations of Chapter One—the inaugural timepiece by Maîtres du Temps—began in Moscow and continued on to Kiev.

“It was both exciting and a special privilege for Maîtres du Temps to present Chapter One in the bustling markets of Moscow and Kiev,” said Mr. Holtzman. “The Russian and Ukrainian consumer has a great appreciation for luxury goods of outstanding quality, and that is compounded by a respect for complicated timepieces and the finer things in life.”

Chapter One is a world-first combination of complications and is the result of a unique collaboration between master watchmakers Mr. Christophe Claret, Mr. Roger Dubuis and Mr. Peter Speake-Marin. The timepiece features a manual-wind mechanical movement, one-minute tourbillon, mono-pusher chronograph, retrograde date indicator, retrograde GMT indicator, day of the week indication on a roller and a patented precise moon phase indication on a roller. Chapter One's tonneau-shaped case is available in a limited series of 11 pieces with a suggested retail of US$400,000.
