Luminox partners with USBSF World Cup team

November 2008

Luminox has entered into a new partnership to provide the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation (USBSF) World Cup team with durable timepieces to weather any conditions.

The agreement between the USBSF and Luminox launched at the start of the current 2008-2009 season, and will run until May 2011, encompassing the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Special Operative groups, including the U.S. Navy Seals, have worn Luminox's watches, and the brand is well-known in the law enforcement and diving worlds, the rugged sports and outdoor arenas, and among pilots around the globe.

“We are very proud to have been selected by another elite group,” Luminox founder Barry Cohen said in a media release. “These athletes are performing at the highest level in a sport requiring split-second timing and decision making, where every little adjustment can result in a winning time.”

Luminox's newest timepieces feature self-illuminating Luminox Light Technology with the hour markers and hands powered by tiny micro gaslights. The brand says the technology provides superior visibility for more than 25 years in any light condition, even complete darkness. Luminox watches are water- and shock-resistant, making them ideal for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton team.
