April 2009

Every year, Hölstein-based Oris Watch Company introduces a limited edition watch dedicated to a musical legend. This year, Oris honors Bob Dylan with a stylishly classical timepiece, limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide.
The stainless steel-cased watch carries Bob Dylan’s signature on the finely patterned dial, and his portrait is engraved on the case back along with the limited edition number of the watch. A small glass window offers a glimpse of the mechanical movement with the famous Oris red rotor. This exclusive Oris limited edition comes in a presentation box set with a Hohner Marine Band harmonica – the instrument for which Dylan is best known.
In the sixties, Dylan came to prominence as the unofficial voice of the counterculture and has since become one of the most influential and important musical artists of all time.
In addition, this year at BaselWorld Oris will introduce another limited edition, the Oris Kazuki Nakajima Day Date, which comes in a 42 mm black PVD coated stainless steel case and is limited to 1,088 pieces – all individually numbered.
The design of the watch takes inspiration from Nakajima's Formula One season. The see through case back shows Kazuki’s logo engraved on the Oris red rotor, while the rubber strap bears the distinctive F1 tyre tread pattern and the openings on the dial were inspired by the breathing slots in Kazuki’s racing helmet.
In addition, Kazuki’s 2008 racing number (8) is highlighted on the minute scale top ring and his signature appears in red below the middle of the dial. The final special design feature is the second hand in the red and white of the Japanese flag. Kazuki himself wears limited edition number eight as a reminder of his first full Formula One season.
