After spearheading the charge by luxury watchmakers into the mass-market sport of football, Hublot has once again broken new ground with its latest marketing association, partnering with one of the sanctioning bodies for the world’s oldest sport, boxing.

Hublot kicks off its partnership with the World Boxing Council (WBC) with a series of 12 unique watches, each dedicated to one of the greatest boxers to enter the ring: Lennox Lewis, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Tommy Harns, Roberto Duran, Oscar de la Hoya, Evander Holyfield, Jeff Fenech and Larry Holmes.

The watches will be auctioned from June this year prior to a unique event planned in September, which will bring together these legendary boxers to do battle outside the ring, not against each other but for the benefit of the charitable work of their federation.

The proceeds from the sale of the watches will benefit the WBC’s charitable work and the winning bidders in the auction will be presented with their watches by the boxers themselves at the gala event in September.
