For the second year in a row, JeanRichard served as the Official Timekeeper and Timepiece of the 160th Oxford and Cambridge BNY Mellon Boat Race when the University Boat Clubs faced each other on the Thames.

The 2014 winning team Oxford University Boat Club was awarded the limited edition JeanRichard Aquascope watch following their stunning performance on the a 6.8-kilometre stretch on the Thames River and deciding the race in 18 minutes and 36 seconds in their favour. The 78th victory of Oxford was followed by over 17 million spectators in the UK and abroad.

This partnership, entered into under the aegis of the JeanRichard’s Aquascope collection, is based on the common values of team spirit, endurance, passionate commitment and a particular Philosophy of Life.
It generated also an exclusive timepiece: a new Aquascope model designed in the race’s traditional colours, with a minute-circle and double hour-marker at 12 o’clock reproducing the two shades of blue corresponding to the two teams (Dark Blue for Oxford, Light Blue for Cambridge), a blue rubber strap with a finely-ribbed surface, and a seconds hand adorned with an arrow referring to the logo of the Race.

The Aquascope “Boat Race” model with a self-winding movement is produced in a limited series of 160 watches, as a tribute to The 2014 BNY Mellon Boat Race, which was the 160th to be held and will be available from April 2014.
