On Saturday, Jaeger-LeCoultre hosted the “Women Who Call the Shots: A Celebration of Women Directors and Showrunners” event, a tribute to women directors and showrunners who are changing the stories on the screen and the statistics in Hollywood with their contributions.

Filmmaker and Festival Guest Director Lisa Cholodenko received the Jaeger-LeCoultre “Glory to the filmmaker” Award - a prize dedicated to a personality who has brought innovation to contemporary cinema.
To mark her major achievements as a woman filmmaker, Lisa Cholodenko received a Grande Reverso Lady Ultra Thin timepiece, the iconic Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece designed in a very feminine and refined manner.

“I want to thank Jaeger-LeCoultre for always supporting creativity and talent in artists and today pays tribute to such a person” Los Angeles Film Festival Director Stephanie Allain declared. During a very eloquent and inspiring speech, Lisa Cholodenko also shared with the audience of women directors and showrunners the key moments of her life as a filmmaker and said: ”I am really honored to be the Guest Director of the festival this year and also I would like to thank Jaeger-LeCoultre for their sponsorship and support of the Los Angeles Film Festival and women directors and helping them make their way”.

A panel discussion followed the event and panelists including writer/directors Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said, Lovely Amazing), Debra Granik (Stray Dog, Winter’s Bone), Gina Prince-Bythewood (Blackbird, Love & Basketball), and showrunner Marta Kauffman (co-creator/executive producer, Friends, Grace and Frankie) explored the current state of affairs for women in creative roles within the industry, and how women at the helm are having an impact on the medium.
