It will never keep you in the dark. The latest timepiece by the Swiss watchmaker brings the colours of the polar lights to the wrist in well-designed GMT package.

Traser H3 has made a name for itself with the luminescence technology it employs in its timepieces. The Bern-based watchmaker is actually the subsidiary of MB Microtec, a company which invented trigalight luminescence. The technology behind trigalight is based on ultra-small glass capillaries, which have an exterior diameter of 0.3 mm and a microscopic interior diameter of only 0.15 mm, equal to the diameter of a human hair.

Here it’s applied in the new Aurora GMT, which attempts to capture the wonder of the polar lights on the dial. As soon as darkness comes in, the light show beings.

For the first time in its history, this Swiss watch brand combines its own in-house manufactured self-activated illumination technology trigalight® with the Superluminova technique. The ice blue and verdant green glow around the clock for an unfailing night & day readability.

The luminescence technology makes the Aurora a perfect timepiece for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone with an active lifestyle. The movement is a Swiss quartz and users can be sure that it won’t be easily susceptible to knocks and bumps along the way. The addition of a sapphire crystal, as opposed to mineral that they used in previous models, adds that extra level of scratch resistance.

And being a GMT timepiece, the Aurora helps frequent travelers with a second time zone indicated by an hour-hand which sweeps along a 24-hour ring. Thanks to the excellent dial design and simple to follow colour combinations, you can be sure that you’ll know what time it is even when waking up in the middle of the night somewhere far away from home.

The Aurora GMT is available in a blue or anthracite-colored dial on a steel bracelet or a midnight blue or black leather wristband. The new watch will hit the market in March 2017, with a starting price of 395 Swiss francs.
