It’s officially boat season in this part of the world, and Frederique Constant knows it. The Swiss watchmaker has just made a timely launch of two new Runabout timepieces, as homage to the elegant Riva boats of the 1920s.

Back then, the Rivas were considered among the European elite for casual boating, known for their speed and agility on the water. With their Italian roots, the vessels were of course very stylish too, and that style translates well to these new timepieces.

The watches are the manifestation of the partnership between Frederique Constant and the Riva Historical Society. The two organizations have been working together since 2009 to preserve the remaining Riva boats worldwide, and helping their owners safeguard their prized possessions in the best way possible.

These new Runabouts come in two variants, both of which embody the classic and elegant boating lifestyle. The first option features a silver-colored dial with a blue GMT hand, with matching navy blue leather strap.

The second option brings a dark grey dial, contrasted by a white GMT hand with a light brown leather strap.

Both versions sport clean guilloché-decorated dials and applied luminous indexes. The see-through case back of their 44mm polished stainless steel cases also allows a glimpse of the inner workings. Specifically, we have the FC-350 movement inside, which additionally boasts an in-house GMT module.
