Opa! The Swiss watchmaker has released a new Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Mykonos limited edition in two-colour titanium and king gold.
Summer. Greece. Mykonos. It doesn’t get much better than spending the last days of summer on the archetypal Greek island. Unless, of course, you also have a solid piece wrapped around your wrist.
Keeping with the iconic blue and white theme of the island, and featuring its iconic windmill symbol, Hublot has unveiled a new edition of its niche Classic Fusion Mykonos model. It follows the success of previous models, which have been released each summer for the last five years.
This latest edition of the chic sports watch again sports the discreet rotating windmill at 3 o’clock, which is probably what I like most about the dial. It also sports a blue second’s counter evoking the sea, completed with a white rubber and blue alligator, again adding to the classic Mykonos feel.
The watch is available only in two variants: titanium - limited to 50 pieces - and king gold - limited to 20 pieces. Each one sports a opened dial to give a peek at the engine inside – a trend that seems to be more popular with many watch designers these days.
Underneath, the 45mm timepiece is equipped with a chronograph self-winding movement that delivers a decent 42-hour power reserve. The watch is water resistant up to 50m, which leaves us wanting given all that swimming customers will, or should be doing with their latest acquisition.
And if you’re interested in this new model, getting your hands on one will also mean splashing a bit of extra cash on a vacation to Greece. In fact, you will have to travel to Mykonos itself because the limited edition is only available at the Gofas Boutique on the island.
