Antiquo / Swatch Watches at Auction Online - Each for SFr. 5 (c. US$ 3)

October 2001

Antiquorum is organizing on www.antiquorum.com for 4 days, from November 19 to 22, 2001, an auction exclusively online that will offer an impressive collection of 1.537 Swatch wristwatches (1.489 lots), property of an American private collector. This collection is representative of Swatch's entire production from 1983 to 1997. All the Swatch models offered are in “never worn” condition and accompanied by their original boxes. The interactive auction will start on November 19 at 10:00 a.m., Swiss Time (9:00 a.m. in London, 4:00 a.m. in New York, 4:00 p.m. in Hong Kong, and 5:00 p.m. in Tokyo).

What is more, each Swatch lot, whether a single Swatch or a set of several wristwatches, is initially offered for sale for a value of SFr. 5 (about US$ 3). A great occasion for fabulous presents for friends and relatives in view of the holiday season!

All those interested in participating in this auction pnline need to register in advance both for pre-sale bidding and for interactive bidding. This auction online system has been developed by the company Zero Computing of Milan. It is one and the same system of auction online for all bidders, with the same procedure applicable to all participants. Every bidder will need to set his or her credit limit, which will be verified by Antiquorum. Should a bidder go over his or her credit lmit, the system will not accept further bids from this bidder. Bidding increments and the full procedure regarding the auction online system will be clearly indicated on Antiquorum's web-site.

The fully illustrated catalogue will be online on www.antiquorum.com from Tuesday, October 23. From that date, those interested in placing pre-sale bids can do so. When a pre-sale bid is received for a particular lot, that amount will replace the initial price of SFr. 5, and so forth. Pre-sale bidders can increase their bids up until 2 hours prior to the start of the interactive auction of November 19.

At the interactive auction, beginning November 19, the “starting price” for each lot will be the last pre-sale bid price received. Each lot is assigned a period of 3 minutes during which interactive bidders can place their bids until the lot is knocked down. If there is strong competition for a particular lot, going over the 3 minutes allocated, the bidding time will be extended to allow everyone to bid.

At the end of the auction online, the results will be indicated on Antiquorum's web-site. As of the day after, on November 23rd, any unsold lots will be re-offered for sale in the same manner.
