May 2013

Ace & Spyer Jewelers, located at Koningsplein 1 in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) has been completely renovated. The boutique, founded in the year 1729, is situated in an historical building with Art Deco facade on the corner of the legendary flower market.

History
Documents found in the official archive of the City of Amsterdam indicate that Mr. Samuel Spyer incorporated his jewellery business located at Kalverstraat 201 in the heart of Amsterdam on April 27th, 1729 and named the business S. Spyer. After the second world war, the ownership of the company has changed several times and in 1998 the jeweller Mr. David Ben Joseph, became the proud owner. The master goldsmith Ben Joseph incorporated his jewellery business at Kalverstraat 72 in Amsterdam in 1975 and in 1998 he changed the name to Ace & Spyer upon the merger of both jewellery boutiques.

On 30th May, a new chapter was added to the rich history of the oldest jewellery boutique in Amsterdam. Ace & Spyer jewellers has re-launched with a complete new and modern look, but keeping the historic features of the historical building in place. The interior has been hand drawn by Mr. David Ben Joseph himself and he has been assisted by his daughter-in-law Aviva Ben Joseph (freelance interior designer) and the renowned Dutch designers of Edha Interiors. The enlarged and transparent windows of Ace & Spyer add to the spacious and luxurious environment in which the premium watch and jewellery brands are displayed. In this unique environment the Swiss brands: Breitling, IWC, Omega, TAG Heuer, Longines and Breitling for Bentley, have their own exclusive shop-in-shop spaces in the boutique.
