hen Jean-Claude Herbelin took over the reins of the company founded by his father in the early 1980s, his aim was to launch a new collection that would embody the fundamental values and watchmaking heritage of the French brand.
This collection was to become the figurehead of the Herbelin style. Drawing on the family’s passion for the sea, it was inspired by the boats racing in the America’s Cup in Newport, Rhode Island, from which it took its name.

Over the years, the Newport has come in many versions, for both men and women, with both quartz and automatic movements. To this day, 35 years on, it is still the brand’s best-selling timepiece.

To commemorate this new milestone, the brand is unveiling the Newport Automatic Chronograph 35th Anniversary Edition. Identical to the original model in its colour codes – silver, gold and blue – this 42 mm timepiece has nevertheless been subtly redesigned to bring it into the present day.
Powered by an automatic chronograph movement, it enters the race in a limited series of 350 numbered pieces worldwide.
