Ba111od goes back to the roots with Chapter 7

The young Swiss watch brand BA111OD, which has made a name for itself by democratising fine watchmaking, is launching a Swiss-made non-skeletonised model. To mark its 4th anniversary, the brand revisits the entry level with a brand-new, affordable collection in the 7th Chapter.

fter the recent launches of more cutting-edge models and prestigious complications (such as the Chapters 4 Tourbillon and Chapter 5 Chronograph), BA111OD is returning to what made its first success: a simple, elegant watch that embodies the harmony between style, quality and accessibility. Founder Thomas Baillod explains, “BA111OD has come a long way. If I originally launched a first watch, it was mainly to demonstrate a business model. The results were far beyond my expectations. And so, somewhat by chance, the brand was born. Today, for its 4th anniversary, it’s time for me to return to the entry-level and offer a magnificent watch accessible to the greatest number.”

He continues, “I’ve always wanted to democratise access to watchmaking, with a customer-centric approach. By rethinking the distribution model, I set up an innovative business model based on we-commerce, a bridge linking commerce and e-commerce, the community evolution of e-commerce. Thanks to this unique business model, it was possible to experiment with the approach and offer the best of Swiss watchmaking at a price unmatched in the industry, without compromising on quality or service.”

A true homage to modern aesthetics, with balanced lines and subtle details that reflect the essence of urban life, the Chapter 7 timepieces are signed by Liliane Murenzi, the brand’s Senior Designer. The brand says, “The idea, with this line, was to create a timepiece like a basic: easy to wear, affordable, that takes up the colour codes dear to the brand, as well as the iconic crown, positioned at 4 o’clock. Attention to detail proved to be our watchword, as evidenced by our satin-finish case with polished facets, reflecting elegance and sophistication from every angle.”

The brand’s first non-skeletonised Chapter, equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement, is available in three 42mm steel variants with structured dials: blue with a yellow seconds hand (a nod to the brand’s very first bestseller); silver-white for a touch of classicism; and a more racy version with a case coated in anthracite pvd and a touch of garnet.

All three models are available on a textile strap with NFC connected chips for a resolutely urban style, or on a steel bracelet (with or without anthracite pvd coating). Textile and steel bracelets are interchangeable, thanks to an easy-clip system.

Since 2019, every launch orchestrated by Thomas Baillod, via the LinkedIn platform and private events, has been eagerly awaited by his Afluendors (a contraction of “Ambassadeurs, inFLUENcers and venDORS”). Each time, the recipe is the same: the presentation, to a growing and committed community, of watches with powerful DNA and design, clear positioning and prices never before seen on the market.
