he partnership between Swiss watchmaking company Perrelet, QoQa, the renowned online sales platform, and the Grande Dixence, the highest gravity dam in the world, has resulted in two new timepieces in the famous “Turbine” collection.

These creations, “Turbine Carbon 44 Bleu Glacier” and “Turbine Titanium 41 Bleu Glacier”, were the most voted by the QoQa Community during October 2023 among the nine proposals submitted by Perrelet. And these will be the references on which the “early-bird” offer (first-come, first-served) will be based.

The lucky purchasers will also be offered the chance to enjoy an unforgettable experience and discover the Grande Dixence, the source of inspiration behind the development of these timepieces.

An exclusive launch that also celebrates the 18th anniversary of the founding of QoQa, the innovative and dynamic e-commerce platform in French-speaking Switzerland that, through its dedicated watch universe, allows collectors and enthusiasts to find the watch of their dreams while benefiting from unique initiatives and experiences.

Afterwards, the “Turbine 44 Carbon Bleu Glacier” and the “Turbine Titanium 41 Bleu Glacier” will join the official Perrelet catalogue.

“Turbine Carbon 44 Bleu Glacier” and “Turbine Titanium 41 Bleu Glacier” are inspired by the territory of western Switzerland and in particular by the well-known Grande Dixence dam.

This imposing architectural construction, the result of a veritable human adventure, is nothing less than the world’s highest gravity dam. Nestling at the bottom of the Val des Dix, 25 km south of Sion, the capital of the canton of Valais, the 285-metre-high wall holds back a volume of 400 million m3, the equivalent of a year’s wine production in the Valais multiplied by... more than 8,000!

To benefit from maximum power, the Cleuson-Dixence production plant is located 1,883 metres lower downstream (a world record). Grande Dixence is a supplier of high-power, clean and renewable electricity.

The Lac des Dix site serves as a base camp for a wide range of cultural and sporting activities, including plant visits, zip-lining, mountain walks, nature observation, gastronomy and leisure.

The two new Perrelet timepieces encapsulate many of the elements that recall the Grande Dixence dam. Firstly, the turbine, a fundamental component of hydroelectric power stations, which is the undisputed star of the dial and has been identifying the “Turbine” collections since 2009. This is followed by a bold and daring aesthetic, dressed in an ice-blue shade. Then there’s the bold design, with its ice blue hue evoking high mountains and water in all its forms: snow, ice, frost...

Innovative and contemporary materials for the cases.

A 44 mm polycarbonate and carbon fiber case combined with a matt black DLC steel bezel and case back for the “Turbine 44 Carbon Bleu Glacier”. Grade 2 titanium with black DLC coating for the “Turbine Titanium 41 Bleu Glacier”, 41 mm in diameter. Both models are water resistant to 10 atm (100 meters).

Two different sizes, two very light materials, allowing optimal comfort and the best wearability on any wrist.

Two colours dominate the aesthetics of these two models: ice blue and black. Skilfully mixed, they endow the watches with a unique and strong identity.

The emblematic turbine, composed of 12 black anodised aluminium blades, which rotates at the slightest movement of the wrist, reveals the decoration of the lower dials and creates eye-catching optical effects.

A polished-satin-finished ton-sur-ton turbine depicted on the ice blue lower dial, an hour chapter ring in the same colour, a black leather strap with alligator pattern and ice blue stitching identify the “Turbine 44 Carbon Bleu Glacier”.

A black hour chapter ring, a light blue lower dial decorated with black turbine blades and an ice blue rubber strap distinguish the version with a 41 mm case.

The embossed Arabic numerals, mixed with indices, filled with Super-LumiNova and the luminescent hour and minute hands ensure optimal time legibility in any light conditions.

Both timepieces are powered by the in-house automatic movement, calibre P-331-MH with a 42-hour power reserve, whose precision and reliability are guaranteed by Swiss COSC and Chronofiable certifications. The sapphire crystal porthole on the case back enables a perfect view of the refined finishing of the mechanism.
