Hegid introduces the Mirage Soleil

The French Maison specialising in evolutionary watchmaking has unveiled a new iteration of its Mirage watch. This latest horological interpretation of speed and heat boasts a radiating textured dial comprising 60 facets.

H

egid’s Mirage watch was first unveiled in 2020. Its creation was influenced by the late 1960s, when the world looked so promising at the apogee of the automotive dream.

Jérôme Coste, Hegid’s Artistic Director, imagined it as the ultimate road companion when driving a transalpine supercar, the Lamborghini Miura, cruising the steep roads of the Riviera. The mild days usually make way, once the sun goes down, for vibrant nights. The new Mirage dial sublimates equally well under the piercing beams of the Mediterranean sun, as it does under the flashes of the paparazzi attending the coveted parties.

Consistent with the original evolutionary principle of Hegid timepieces, the various elements composing the Mirage Soleil are available separately and can be adapted to pre-existing Hegid watches. The Mirage Soleil keeps the same profiled, satin-finished steel case as its initial version. It also preserves the chic, dynamic character of its distinctive Virage quilted strap.

The new face of the Mirage features 60 facets that help to situate us in time, with elegance and precision. To the rhythm of the oscillations of the automatic movement, the hills and valleys crossed by the hands, like a racing car on rolling roads, we can guess the time. Under the palm trees, when the light hits the Mirage Soleil, it shines brightly. In daylight, the mirror-polished details of the dial, indexes and hands sparkle. Charged with the rays of the day, the Mirage Soleil helps us drift off into the dusk, thanks to the glow of its luminescent hands and its 40-hour power reserve.

The Mirage capsules and cases are designed, manufactured and assembled in France, and at the Swiss border, where the movements are made. The Virage straps in Nappa leather, with their original quilted strands suggesting the comfortable, cushioned leather seats of 60s sports cars, are also crafted in French workshops.

The watches in Hegid’s Mirage range are available on hegid.com and in boutiques, including the Hegid showroom located at 8 rue Volney in Paris.
