Seiko was founded in 1881 in Tokyo, Japan as a watch and jewellery shop. The brand presented its first watches in 1924. Seiko produces quartz and mechanical watches and its innovations include the Seiko Kinetic, which combines the self-winding of a mechanical watch with the accuracy of quartz, and the Spring Drive, which offers a better power reserve than mechanical watches whilst maintaining the accuracy of a quartz timepiece.
