Atlantic Watch SA has enlisted the talents of Flavio Marazzi to develop a new signature watch. Olympic contender Marazzi is the world sailing champion in the 5.5-m class and European champion in the Star class. He is slated to compete in Qingdao in August.

In the watchmaking community, Atlantic Watch SA is considered to be the pioneer in water-resistant timepieces. On the occasion of its 120th anniversary, the company intends to remain under full sail.



CEO Jürg Bohne knows how important it is to stay the course in the market as well. So it comes as no surprise that the Atlantic brand chose Flavio Marazzi as its ambassador and co-designer of a watch dedicated to sailing enthusiasts. The talented skipper hopes to win a medal in the Star class at the Olympic Games in Beijing this summer. Expressing his rapport with the evocative name Atlantic, he joined forces with the company to create his own special-edition watch. Commenting on his experience as a watch designer, Flavio Marazzi said: “Atlantic Watch SA not only has a charismatic name but also shares my passion for top-tier performance. Exceptional achievements call for the determination to excel at all times. For me, it was an interesting experience to contribute to the development of my own signature watch. My background in regatta sailing was instrumental in the design of this attractive skipper’s companion.” The Flavio Marazzi watch is available in two versions: Seashark Blueflag and Seashark Blackrace.



The timepiece is powered by a Swiss-made ETA quartz chronograph movement. The crown, the signed caseback, and the pushers are screwed to guarantee extreme water-resistance to 300 meters. The scratch-resistant, antireflection-coated sapphire crystal and the rugged anchor-pattern stainless steel bracelet with a double safety clasp are features that underscore the sailing-inspired personality of the watch.
