Reservoir GT Tour Racing: a racing car speedometer on your wrist

The years between 1960 and 1990 saw a series of legendary motor races, forging the very essence of the GT Tour collection. These timepieces embody the values of precision, high performance and determination. Now, Reservoir introduces a new addition to this collection, the GT Tour Racing.

R

eservoir watches, with their unique features – retrograde minute, jumping hour and power reserve – mirror the functionality and aesthetic appeal of counters or gauges found in cars, aeronautics, and marine settings. This was an era when drivers and pilots relied on their precision instruments, and adrenaline coursed through their veins as they embarked on their perilous and demanding journeys.

Powering this new timepiece is the RSV-240 calibre. To develop this movement, Reservoir continued its original partnership with Telos, a Swiss manufacturer of high-end custom mechanical movements. The updated P168 module benefits from several optimisations and is now paired with a manufacture movement (LJP-G100 base), boasting an extended power reserve of 56 hours.

As the race is about to begin, the driver glances at the RPM counter, his mind whirring. The racing cars’ throaty growls and the pungent odours of oil and fuel fill the air. Suddenly, rubber tyres grip the asphalt, and the driver tastes the thrill of high speed and the desire to cross the finish line first. It is in this state of intense focus that dreams of victory and adventure possess his entire being. Senses are heightened – as vivid as the headlights piercing the darkness of the night.

The new GT Tour Racing pays homage to the codes of contemporary motorsports and their ever-evolving cutting-edge technology. This new, unapologetically modern version takes inspiration from the materials used in the world’s most powerful and durable racing cars, including Formula 1 cars, where carbon is crucial for achieving exceptional performance. The GT Tour Racing features a unique dial made entirely of woven carbon fibre, giving the watch a bold and assertive sporty appearance.
