Christie's sale of Important Pocket Watches & Wristwatches totaled US$6,218,352 - the highest total ever achieved at Christie's New York. The top lot was a rare Patek Philippe 18k gold single-button chronograph wristwatch that realized US$432,000. Also of note was a unique “Fishes” bangle bracelet by Patek Philippe which sold for US$120,000 - ten times it's pre-sale low estimate.

“We are thrilled with the results of today’s sale, which at US$6.2 million is the highest total ever achieved at Christie’s New York. The sale exhibited strong support from a vast audience of international private collectors. The fevered bidding further confirms the strength of the market and Christie’s place as the leading choice for the discriminating collector and watch enthusiast. One high point of the sale was the unique Patek Philippe 'Fishes' bangle which realized US$120,000 – ten times its low estimate,†said Adrienne Hines, Head of Watch Sales at Christie’s New York.
