When launched in 1980
Hublot watches were the first to combine gold and natural rubber. This "Art of Fusion" became the signature of the brand and the distinctive design inspired by a boat’s porthole (an “hublot” in French) set Hublot apart from the crowd.
Jean-Claude Biver took control of the brand in 2004, injecting his familiar passion and drive and generating impressive growth, notably thanks to the introduction of the
Big Bang collection in 2005. The Hublot collection has since expanded to include the
King Power,
Classic Fusion and
Masterpiece models, continuing the idea of fusion with the use of unusual materials such as zirconium, tungsten, magnesium and even “Hublonium” – an alloy proprietary to the brand.
After increasing its turnover tenfold in just four years, Hublot was purchased by the LVMH group in 2008, while Jean-Claude Biver continues to act as CEO of the company.
