The
Omega watch company was established by Louis Brandt in the town of Bienne in 1848. Over the past 150 years the brand’s four core collections:
Seamaster,
Speedmaster,
Constellation and
De Ville, have established themselves among the classics in Swiss watchmaking.
The Speedmaster has an unrivalled pedigree after being selected by NASA for use in its Apollo missions in the 1960s and has remained faithful to its original design ever since. Omega Seamaster watches have been a favourite not only of deep-sea divers but also of the renowned fictional secret agent James Bond.
Today Omega is part of the Swatch Group and is under the leadership of Stephen Urquhart. Since the turn of the century, Omega has fitted its watches with the revolutionary co-axial escapement, which was invented by the late master watchmaker George Daniels.
