Maurice Lacroix officially presented the strictly limited Mémoire 1 chronograph to a gathering of about 400 international guests in Basel. The presentation of this watch and its completely new Grande Complication, which establishes a new standard in the watch industry, was accompanied by a performance by a “Parkour” team.



“Le Parkour” is an innovative, elegant and entirely precise sport, a type of locomotion somewhere between art and philosophy of life. Parkour is primarily about overcoming hindrances and limits as well as finding new paths time and again. The basic concepts for overcoming apparently impassible barriers as well as the values of Parkour – innovation, precision, and elegance – are of foremost importance for Maurice Lacroix as well. Through its own unique developments, this watch Manufacture from Saignelégier in Switzerland’s Jura Mountains demonstrates that it is possible for an independent brand to set standards in the watch industry. The company set up a creative cell with internal and external specialists in its “Atelier de Maurice Lacroix” where revolutionary ideas for
movements and complications are born.

At the presentation of the Mémoire 1 on 2 April 2008 in Basel’s Volta Hall, six traceurs – as practitioners of Parkour are called – appeared on behalf of Maurice Lacroix. About 400 media representatives and watch dealers from around the world were able to experience this fusion of abilities at the highest level: exceptional athletes in action and the Mémoire 1, a proof of the creative powers housed in the “Atelier de Maurice Lacroix”. This strictly limited chronograph is the first mechanical watch with a memory – an entirely new Grande Complication.
