Tudor recently underwent an immense re-looking, launching an array of powerful new collections that would give a totally new image to the brand. The new look was closely linked to the world of car racing with a new collaboration with Porsche Motorsport, the entity that organizes and manages all competitions for Porsche racing cars.
This year’s timepieces continue on the same track with sporty new watches that combine the elegance and performance of both the worlds of watchmaking and racing.
One of the highlights of Tudor’s 2010 offering has to be the Heritage Collection which is recognisable by its orange, grey and black ‘go fast’ stripes on the fabric strap and orange details on the dial. Stylistic and technical references to the world of car racing abound, from the aerodynamic proportions and decidedly aggressive design of the chronograph function to the features protecting the crown and pushers. The dial, which comes in grey, black or black and grey, plays on a three dimensional effect and is complemented by the graduated rotatable bezel in anodized aluminium.
The original graphics on the dial take their inspiration from the 1970s Oysterdate, while the case is adapted to present-day sports appeal bringing the diameter of the new Tudor Heritage to 42mm, compared to the 40mm of the original.
The fabric strap can also be changed for a steel bracelet with a safety clasp.
