Inhorgenta Europe 2005 - More cosmopolitan than ever

June 2005

Inhorgenta

1,200 exhibitors and almost 29,000 trade buyers from all over the world created a very international and upbeat atmosphere at Inhorgenta Europe 2005, which was held in Munich from 25 to 28 February this year. A total of 1,209 (previous year: 1,153) exhibitors from 37 (35) countries put on a superb display of all the latest innovations and upcoming trends to 28,866 (26,855) buyers from 78 (72) countries. The proportion of foreign exhibitors was 36% (2004: 32%), and of foreign visitors, around 29% (2004: 28%). A highly visible development at this year's Inhorgenta Europe was the integration of current fashion and lifestyle trends with the watch and jewellery sections. One other theme to come out (evident at national and international level) is a clear trend towards more glamour, with a focus on more opulent jewellery, baroque forms and large coloured stones.

What the exhibitors said about Inhorgenta Europe 2005

Georg Bunz, owner, Atelier Bunz GmbH:
“30% of our customers are from abroad. The many activities of the Munich trade fair organisation in Eastern Europe are quite clearly having an effect.”
Harald Schröder, Marketing Manager, Casio Europe GmbH:
“We are particularly pleased about the increase in the number of customers from Eastern Europe. We are seeing here also the effects of the trade-fair organisation's Top Buyers Programme.”

Rudolf Biehler, Ernst Färber, Munich:
“We had even more customers from all parts of the globe – all of them had clearly recognised the central significance of Inhorgenta Europe.”

Christine Meyer von Froreich, Marketing Director, Junghans Uhren GmbH:
“Inhorgenta Europe has never before been as international as it was this year. We had customers from countries like Bulgaria and Portugal and even from as far a field as China at our stand.”

Jochen Exner, Managing Director, Gebrüder Niessing GmbH:
“It was especially pleasing to see a wider international scope among the trade visitors. Trade buyers were even coming to Munich from overseas.”
