2007 – Record Year for A. Lange & Söhne

January 2008

With 18 product awards in 2007, this has been the most successful year in the history of the traditional German watch brand. And two A. Lange & Söhne timepieces have just been voted “Watch of the Year 2007” in Vienna.

With a total of 18 international product awards, the most successful year in the short history of the traditional A. Lange & Söhne brand, which was re-established in 1990, is coming to an end. Since the launch of the first collection of watches 13 years ago, these refined timepieces from Saxony have scooped more than a hundred awards, including 64 first prizes.

In this year's vote for the “Watch of the Year” in Vienna the LANGE 31 and the GRAND SAXONIA AUTOMATIK were clear winners in the “Complicated Mechanics” and “Classic Elegance” categories. This was the eleventh time that an A. Lange & Söhne watch was voted number one by readers of the leading Austrian daily newspaper “Die Presse”. The LANGE 31 also secured second place in the new “Watch Innovations of the Year” category. The awards were collected by Walter Lange, the founder of the company.

Just two weeks previously readers of the Austrian business magazine “Format” had awarded two first prizes and a third prize to A. Lange & Söhne timepieces in the magazine's “Chrono Awards”. The LANGE 31 and the SAXONIA AUTO–MATIK came out top in the “First Class” and “Busi–ness Class” categories and the CABARET “Soirée” secured third prize in the “Ladies Special” category. Lange watches have also won awards this year in Switzerland, USA, Russia, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates.
