The Swiss Red Cross Ball 2009, the celebrated charity gala in aid of the most destitute, will take place at the Halles CFF in Morges, Saturday, June 6th, 2009. For its 8th annual edition entitled "The Magic of Africa", this fundraising event, the single most important for the Swiss Red Cross, will benefit from the support of many prestigious sponsors, notably the Hôtel Beau-Rivage, Guaranty Trust Bank, Rolex and Mouawad Jewellers.
The main objective of the Swiss Red Cross Ball is to raise funds for its "Victims of Forgotten Disasters" programme, targeting countries with extreme suffering, often overlooked by the media. This year, the ball will highlight Swaziland, located in southern Africa, which has one of the highest rates of HIV/AIDS. Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Bangladesh are other countries that will benefit from the funds raised from the 2009 edition of the Swiss Red Cross Ball.
One of the highlights of the evening is the famous charity auction of the Swiss Red Cross Ball presenting amazing lots offered by prestigious donors such as Rolex who is generously offering the Leopard Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watch, which contribute for the first time to the Ball.
