At the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair in September (2 - 6 September 2009), Comtech Watches Co. Ltd. will introduce more than 50 new Obaku Harmony® styles, increasing the total range to 200 variations, retailing at prices from EUR 79,- to EUR 149,-.
The new collection consists of even more creative and sophisticated minimalist designs for both Men and Women. The new watches emphasize a high degree of functionality, easy-to-read functions as super luminous hands and index, and new technology straps including Kevlar. All new versions are mounted with the crack resistant Titan glass and some models with environmental friendly movements using batteries without Mercury and Lead.
The name of Obaku is a branch of the Zen philosophy, founded in 1652. The OBAKU philosophy adopted the best ideas from the two main branches in the ZEN philosophy; Rinzai and Soto, hence creating a new and better philosophy. Obaku was also well known for creating the art of calligraphy and the three founders were know as the "Three Brushes of Obaku".
The Obaku Harmony® watches are designed by the two Danish designers, Christian Mikkelsen and Lau Liengård Ruge, that have several years of experience in watch design for international watch brands. The watches are manufactured by Comtech Watches Co. Ltd. which also is the brand owner of Obaku Harmony®.
