ETA SA crosses time zones with its new automatic chronograph for men

Grenchen, April 2003 - ETA SA, a member company of the Swatch Group, is presenting its new Swiss made automatic chronograph Mecaline SpÉcialitÉ 13 1 &Mac218;4''' ETA 7754 based on the calibre 7750.
As an addition to the family of Mecaline SpÉcialitÉ calibres, this new self-winding chronograph movement incorporates a time zone mechanism with 24 hour display by means of a hand in the dial centre.
Change from one time zone to another (adjustment of the 24 hour hand in relation to the 12 hour hand) is effected very simply by rotating the crown in the intermediate position.
In addition to this new function, the ETA 7754 calibre displays the hours, minutes and seconds on a subdial and retains its chronograph mechanism (developed from the basic calibre ETA 7750) which permits timing for 60 seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours via counters located respectively in the centre and at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions. The date is displayed by means of a date window at 3 o'clock.
In dimensional terms, calibre ETA 7754 is perfectly interchangeable (Ø 30,00 - H 7.90 mm) with calibres 7750 and 7751, 7753 (without the correcting push-piece at 10h).
Developed from the famous ETA 7750 chronograph range, the new calibre ETA 7754
incorporates a power reserve of more than 46 hours accompanied by legendary reliability and accuracy. This chronograph is also available in a chronometer version.
Holding out many interesting prospects for frequent travellers, this new calibre will surely very soon become another great success for timepieces « made in Switzerland».

ETA SA: NEW AUTOMATIC BIG DATE MOVEMENT
Grenchen, April 2003 - ETA SA, a company of the Swatch Group, is presenting its new
Mecaline SpÉcialitÉ 11 1 &Mac218;2''' ETA 2896 automatic movement with a big date display aperture.
Developed from the famous ETA 2892A2 range of automatic movements, the new calibre 2896 displays the date through a big calendar aperture. The date change can be positioned precisely at midnight. The changeover is instant and uses very little energy. The normal working of the movement is therefore practically unaffected by the date change. Moreover, an innovative mechanism locks the disks to prevent any sudden movement on exposure to a shock. A patent on this mechanism has been applied for.
The big aperture of the calibre 2896 measures 4.90 x 3.00mm. It is 2.72 times larger than the area of the aperture of the basic calibre 2892A2 (2.70 x 2.00mm). The aperture has been deliberately positioned at 3 o'clock to enable the watchmaking brands to apply a clearly visible and readable logo at 12 o'clock on the dial.
From the functional angle, the rapid date correction is effected in the conventional way by rotating the crown pulled out to the intermediate position. Like all ETA calendar systems, this prevents any error in the date sequencing (the 31st is automatically followed by the 1st).
In addition to the indications given by the hour, minutes and central seconds hands, this calibre has a power reserve of more than 42 hours with legendary reliability and accuracy.
The dimensions (Ø 25.60 mm - H 4.85 mm) have been chosen to allow great freedom for the
design of the exterior parts for customers wishing to include this noble function in their range of men's watches.
Extremely reliable, easy to actuate and made with extreme care, this new calibre ETA 2896 is also available in a chronometer version.
ETA SA ADDS AN ALARM MODEL TO ITS QUARTZ
CHRONOGRAPH RANGE.
Grenchen, April 2003 - ETA SA, a member company of the Swatch Group, is presenting its new Swiss made quartz chronograph Fashionline 13 1 &Mac218;4''' ETA G10.791.
As an addition to the men's models 13 1 &Mac218;4''' ETA G10.211 and ETA G10.711, this new calibre for men is an analogue chronograph fitted with an alarm function. It displays the hours, minutes and seconds (jumping seconds subdial at 6 o'/clock) and the date via a date window ; it also permits timing measurements (Add or Split) on 60 second, 60 minute and 24 hour counters.
The alarm hours and minutes are displaced in analogue mode. The alarm setting is facilitated by a third push-piece at 10 o'clock and the central hand of the 60 seconds counter shows (in the alarm mode) by an acoustic and directional indication whether the alarm is activated or deactivated.
The dimensions (Ø 29.80 mm, H. 5.94 mm) provide many opportunities for fitting exterior parts.
Intended for chronograph watches for men, this movement (which cannot be dismantled) offers an excellent quality - performance - price ratio.
Its competitive price and performance are certain to attract a wide range of customers wishing to add an alarm function to their range of men's chronographs.
