A functional component essential to a watch mechanism, the oscillating weight is what automatically rewinds the watch by exploiting the gravitational force.

Each one of its motions winds the spring, the watch’s motor, and gets its energetic resources from the movements of the wrist.

In 2011, Dior watchmaking had the brilliant idea of placing it on top of the dial so that its hypnotic movements and beautiful shapes could be fully appreciated. No less than 18 months were needed for Les Ateliers Horlogers Dior, located in Switzerland at La Chaux-de-Fonds, and for the Soprod Manufacture to develop the “Dior Inversé” calibre of micro-metric precision. A feat as technical as it is aesthetic.

In 2012, Chiffre Rouge, the Dior Timepieces’ collection for men, is equipped once again with the “Dior Inversé” calibre. The perforated pattern on the oscillating weight of the M05 in red or black and inspired by the cotton piqué dickeys on the Dior Homme tuxedo shirts, give it a graphic and contemporary silhouette while renewing the Chiffre Rouge codes with contrasts of shiny and matte black.

The “Dior Inversé” calibre is the result of Swiss rigorousness combined with the creativity of a Parisian Haute Couture house.
