The 23rd Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie will welcome trade visitors from January 21st to 25th 2013, at Palexpo Geneva. This unique event captures the avant-garde spirit that sets the tone for the watchmaking year.

The 23rd Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) will be the first date in the Fine Watchmaking calendar for 2013 as, for the fifth consecutive year, the SIHH makes an early start and sets the tone in watches for the twelve months to come.

As a premier gathering of retailers, journalists and representatives of the exhibiting brands, each new edition confirms the SIHH as an event that continues to go from strength to strength. No fewer than 12,000 visitors from all five continents, including over 1,200 journalists, are expected at this 23rd SIHH, whose policy of exclusivity and selectivity ranks this international fair at the top of the watchmaking agenda.

Culture and history will be present with the first staging in Geneva of The Mastery of Time, an exhibition that has already travelled to Mexico City, London and Paris.

Based on the eponymous book by Dominique Fléchon, published by the FHH with Flammarion, this informative exhibition traces the history of time measurement as a reflection of human genius. Indeed, from the first gnomons to contemporary wonders of micromechanics, the inventions which have allowed Man to walk in the footsteps of Chronos are intimately linked to centuries of scientific and technical discoveries. As a fabulous showcase for the creativity and expertise of these brands and their capacity to innovate, the SIHH highlights the singularity of a world imbued with culture, art and history, science and technology.

This 23rd edition will again demonstrate the incredible diversity of Fine Watchmaking, and its incomparable ability to astonish and seduce.
