The Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Chronograph '68

Massena LAB welcomes its latest collaboration with the historic Swiss watchmaker in the Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Chronograph ’68. This Swiss-made, self-winding, chronograph draws its inspiration from a number of vintage references produced and sold in the late 1960s.

T

he release of the Chronograph ’68 is the fourth collaboration between Massena LAB and the historic, Swiss watchmaker Mathey-Tissot, succeeding two vintage-inspired iterations of the famed Type XX Chronograph released in 2022, and 2023’s release of the Mergulhador, a dive watch with a peculiar name, first produced for the Portuguese market in the 1970s.

The latest collaboration between Mathey-Tissot and Massena LAB is named for the year 1968. From the carefree and music-filled streets of Swinging London, to Arthur Ashe’s triumph at the U.S. Open, Graham Hill at the Formula One, and the shock of the Prague Spring, 1968 represents a year of important societal and cultural change in world history.

The Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Chronograph ’68 takes its inspiration both from a number of vintage references produced and sold in the late 1960s. The Chronograph ’68 features a handsome, black dial with reflective hour markers; three colourful registers in red, white, and blue; an eccentric lollipop chronograph hand; and a uni-directional, 120-click bezel with a luminous plot at zero. Its hour, minute, and chronograph hands are also luminous.

Housed inside its 41mm, stainless steel case, the Chronograph ’68 is powered by the Swiss-made, self-winding Landeron caliber 73, beating at a frequency of 28,800 half oscillations per hour (4Hz) with 43 hours of power reserve.

The Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Chronograph ’68 will be delivered in a Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB presentation box which will include a warranty card, instructions, and a guarantee of two years.

The Mathey-Tissot x Massena LAB Chronograph ’68 is priced at US $1495 and available exclusively at MassenaLAB.com.
