nspired by the spirit of discovery and adventure presented in chasing the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights, Bremont and Bamford Watch Department introduce a luminescent limited edition Supermarine GMT, imbued with each brand’s distinct DNA.

Celebrating a sense of discovery, the Aurora is a timepiece suited to life’s adventurers who have a desire to forge unchartered paths and explore a world of countless opportunities. Tackling rugged and unfamiliar terrain in the pursuit of viewing one of the world’s greatest spectacles, witnessing the Northern Lights is a voyage of self-discovery for many. Through the launch of the Aurora, Bremont and Bamford Watch Department encourage you to pursue your own path to find your light.

The mesmerising and otherworldly spectacle of the Aurora Borealis has captivated humanity for centuries. Fittingly, 2024 is set to bring the best opportunity to experience the Aurora in over 20 years, due to the solar maximum where the sun reaches the peak of its 11-year cycle and enables the Northern Lights to be their most visible.

Bremont is motivated by a relentless determination to create the world’s most capable tool watches, worn by those who dare to venture into the unknown. The brand’s mission is to be there at the limits of possibility in adventure and exploration, championing self-belief and the drive to succeed. As such George Bamford’s quest to chase the Northern Lights formed the inspiration for the limited-edition collection, inspiring self-belief, and a passion for adventure. George’s pursuits reflect the spirit of ‘Take it Further’, Bremont’s mantra and maxim.

Davide Cerrato, Bremont CEO comments: “Joining forces with George following the sell-out success of the first collaboration between Bremont and Bamford Watch Department has been an exciting adventure. I have always been fascinated by the challenge of creating a timepiece that is as compelling in the dark as it is in the light. Working with George I am thrilled that we have achieved a luminous show which mirrors the magic and spectacle of the aurora borealis.”

The Bremont Bamford Aurora is a limited edition of 500 pieces and presents a mission-ready and highly tactical design from the Supermarine collection, with GMT functionality and anti-shock protection. The design is defined by the striking all-black finish with a bold application of entrancing green emission Super-LumiNova, reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis’ dancing ribbons of light, which captivate and inspire.

The 43mm Stainless Steel DLC-coated Trip-Tick case is complimented by a bi-coloured polished Sapphire 24-hour bezel for day and night indication, and a luminous California sandwich dial design. Vibrant green Super-LumiNova permeates the design from the bezel to the cut-out numerals creating a highly legible dial with increased luminosity because of its ‘layered’ dial construction.

Instead of a single plate, a layered dial is comprised of a solid disc of luminous material which is covered with a plate with index apertures to expose the Super-LumiNova as characters. This layered design achieves incredible performance in visibility and adds a lovely depth to the dial.

The dial is further enhanced with matt black hour and minute hands filled with green Super-LumiNova, a matt black and gloss green GMT hand filled with green Super-LumiNova and a gloss green centre second hand.

Turning the watch over reveals a DLC-coated decorated case-back and the strap is finished in black nubuck leather with green stitching and DLC-coated pin buckle to match. The resulting timepiece reflects both British brands’ distinctive design ethos and brand culture, presenting a unique twist on Bremont’s signature Supermarine S502.
