Jeep® Watches: On Road. On Time. Every Time.

November 2004

“Right Place, Right Time”
For over four generations, Pevazi, Inc., along with its sister company Nivada Swiss, have designed, manufactured, marketed and distributed high-quality timepieces to women and men around the globe. Now, through an exclusive licensing agreement with The Joester Loria Group (the worldwide licensing agent for the Jeep brand), Pevazi is getting set to launch its Jeep watch collection which is now available.

“It’s All In A Name”
With this being the company’s first license and initial launch into the North American market, it was important that the line feature a highly recognizable and respected name. Without hesitation, the company chose the Jeep brand name.“The Jeep brand has a wonderful and rich history that dates back to 1941 when the first Jeep vehicle was introduced,” stated Frank Salzano, Chief Operating Officer, Pevazi, Inc. “The Jeep name is recognized by consumers worldwide with an amazing brand awareness of over 90%. When consumers see the Jeep brand name, they immediately think of rugged, durable and stylish qualities. These are the same attributes that we’ve been able to successfully incorporate into our line. And more importantly, our research has shown that the Jeep brand would translate very well in a watch line.”

“The Collection”
For over a year, Pevazi dedicated numerous hours, including developing proprietary designs, and conducted multiple outdoor enthusiast focus groups before they finalized the Jeep line. With over one hundred models for men and women, this family of outdoor-inspired watches offers six different collections. “One of our goals was to create a line of watches for the specific segments of the outdoors. We not only wanted the watches to function, but we wanted to make sure they looked good doing it,” stated Mr. Salzano.

Pevazi has designed all of the Jeep watches with great detail and they have put meticulous care into each and every component. All of the cases are manufactured using premium/surgical grade stainless steel and all are water resistant to a minimum of 50 metres (165 feet). The Divers Collection provides even greater resistance, up to 200 metres (660 feet). Attachments for the line range from natural rubber to uniquely styled combinations of leather and nylon to solid surgical grade steel. All of the models have luminescent qualities and feature a wide range of quartz movements, including analogue and analogue/digital. All of the watches also feature special functions that serve as tools for the outdoor enthusiast, including chronographs, world timers, compasses, moon phases, dual time, alarms, aviation functions and 12/24 hour time indicators.

“Product Highlights”

Ranging in price from $100-275, Jeep watches also offer a seven year limited warranty. Says Salzano, “We’re able to offer this length of warranty because of our detail to engineering and design and the quality of each and every component of the watch.”

“The Support”
Pevazi believes that the right steps must be taken to help create a successful launch of the new line and to support its retailers. “We really want to make sure we introduce the line the right way,” stated Mr. Salazano. “To help us achieve that goal, we’re developing a very comprehensive marketing campaign that will include both advertising and public relations. We’re also going to be selective in the type of retailers we target.”

“In addition to the marketing and public relations support, we’re also putting a tremendous effort into the development of our collateral materials, like our catalogues and display systems,” continued Mr. Salzano. “As a matter of fact, we launched our modular display at the Concours d’Elegance pavilion at the JA Show in New York City in July and we won first place in the show’s Window Display Contest (Sport or Military category). The judges for the contest were some of the most prominent retailers in the country and we’re very proud of the honour.”

Jeep timepieces are just the latest addition to the Jeep merchandise program, which saw worldwide consumer sales top $440 million in 2003.
